Experience
Garie started his career as a research analyst for one of the Philippines’ leading stock brokerage firms. He covered media, mining, and telco stocks. Since then, he has been involved in research covering distressed software stocks in North America and Europe, Philippine banking stocks, and sub-investment grade bonds in Southeast Asia.
Apart from his professional experience in investment research, he also has personal experience investing and trading equities, futures, and cryptocurrencies. In his spare time, he is preoccupied with Pinoy food, the horror genre, and cats.
As an advocate for financial literacy, he has been an active volunteer for the CFA Society Philippines, and he currently writes about finance for filipiknow.net.
Education
Garie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He earned his CFA Charter in 2018.
