1. Calling a Landline Under the Same Area Code

To call someone in the same area code as yours, dial the person’s landline number.

Suppose you’re in  Batangas and wish to call a landline in the same province. Dial the number you wish to call; no need to insert the area code before the number.

2. Calling a Landline Under a Different Area Code

  • To call a landline outside Metro Manila: Dial 0 + <area code> + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 043-XXX-XXXX if you are in a different province and wish to call someone in Batangas.
  • To call a  Globe landline in Metro Manila or places with an area code of 02: Dial 0 + 2 + 7 + <7-digit landline number>.
  • To call a  PLDT landline in Metro Manila or places with an area code of 02: Dial 0 + 2 + 8 + <7-digit landline number>.

3. Calling a Landline in the Philippines if You’re From a Different Country

  • Call from overseas to a province outside Metro Manila:  Use the format: 00 + 63 + <area code> + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 00-63-43-XXX-XXXX  if you are in a different country and wish to call someone in Batangas.
  • Call from overseas to Metro Manila (or place with 02 as the area code) using a Globe landline: Dial 00 + 63 + <area code> + 7 + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 00-63-2-7XXX-XXXX if you are in a different country and wish to call someone in Metro Manila using a Globe landline.
  • Call from overseas to Metro Manila (or place with 02 as area code) using a PLDT/Smart landline:  Dial 00 + 63 + <area code> + 8 + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 00-63-2-8XXX-XXXX if you are in a different country and wish to call someone in Metro Manila using a PLDT landline.

How To Dial a Landline Number From Mobile in the Philippines

To call a  landline number using your mobile phone, dial the area code regardless of where the landline is located.

Follow these steps:

  1. Press the area code of the landline you wish to call.
  2. Press the landline number, then proceed with the call.

In short:

<area code> + <7- or 8-digit landline number>

  • If you’re calling a landline outside Metro Manila where the area code is not 02, follow the exact format presented above.
  • If you call a Globe landline in Metro Manila or places with an area code of 02, add 7 at the beginning of the existing landline number. In other words, dial <area code> + 7 + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 02-7XXX-XXXX on your mobile phone if you call someone in Metro Manila with a Globe landline.
  • If you’re calling a PLDT landline in Metro Manila or places with an area code of 02, add 8 at the beginning of the number. Simply put, dial <area code> + 8 + <7-digit landline number>. Example: Dial 02-8XXX-XXXX on your mobile phone if you call someone in Metro Manila with a PLDT landline.

If you have a good internet connection, you can call a landline in the Philippines using the following:

1. PinoyDialer

PinoyDialer is a computer application that enables users to call a landline number in the Philippines. Here’s how you can call a landline using this app:

  1. Download the software.
  2. Install the software on your computer.
  3. Once the software is installed, provide your username and password.
  4. Enter the landline number you wish to call in the textbox in this format: 00 + country code (63) + <area code> + <landline number>. Note that if the landline is based in Metro Manila, you must add 7 (if it is a Globe landline) or 8 (if it is a PLDT landline) at the beginning of the landline number.

Skype is a widely known application that provides telecommunication and voice call services across various countries.

To call a landline in the Philippines using Skype, follow these steps:

  1. Download Skype.
  2. Sign in to Skype using your username, email, or phone. If you don’t have an account yet, tap Create a New Account and follow the steps.
  3. After signing in, select Calls, then Dial Pad. Skype will show your current country and the associated rates. 
  4. Select the Philippines from the drop-down list. You can also manually type our country code, 63.
  5. Enter the number you want to call. If the landline is outside Metro Manila, use this format: <area code> + <7-digit landline number>. Meanwhile, if the landline is Globe and is in Metro Manila, enter: <area code> + 7 + <7-digit landline number>. Lastly, if the landline is PLDT and is in Metro Manila, enter this format: <area code> + 8 + <7-digit landline number>.
  6. Click the Call button.

3. Viber

If you’re a Viber user, you can call a landline number by following these steps:

  1. Open your Viber app and tap Calls.
  2. Tap on the keypad.
  3. Enter the landline number you wish to call using this format: “+” + country code (63) + <area code without leading 0’s> + <landline number>. Note that if the landline is based in Metro Manila, you must add 7 at the beginning of the landline number (if it is a Globe landline) or 8 (if it is a PLDT landline).
