Can First-Time Travelers Apply for a Korean Visa?
The latest update from the Embassy, which orders travel agencies to refuse applications without old passports, has created some confusion. If you’ve heard that first-time travelers aren’t allowed to apply for Korean visa, this info is wrong and fake news.
If you’ve never been to any country before, don’t be disheartened. Korean visa applications of Filipinos who have never traveled abroad are still being accepted.
The new rule requiring old passports with travel history applies only to those who indicate in their visa application form that they’ve traveled overseas in the last five years.
Just be sure to leave section 7.7 on the third page of the application form blank if you’re traveling abroad for the first time (see image below).
