Every Philippine passport is assigned with a set of numbers to serve as its unique identifier.

As much as possible, avoid booking flights if your Philippine passport is set to expire soon. Get it renewed first before planning for your trip and buying plane tickets.
Should you insist on booking a flight using your soon-to-be-expiring Philippine passport, inquire at the airline of your choice if it’s possible. Some may allow you to edit your passport number, provided that you renew your Philippine passport prior to your departure date.
