The Ultimate Civil Service Exam Guide for Filipinos: Tips, Procedures, and Requirements

Last Updated on

Would you rather work abroad or stay here and land a stable government job by passing the civil service exam?

Considering most Filipinos are family-oriented, it won’t surprise me if you choose the latter.

Just look at Jobstreet’s October 2017 survey: Almost 80% (or 8 out of 10) of the 16, 425 respondents expressed their desire to work in the government.

This proves that when given a chance, most Filipinos will rather work here than be away from their families.

With all the benefits associated with a career in public service, it’s easy to see why Filipinos prefer it over your regular 9-to-5 office job.

On top of the fulfillment you derive from serving the Filipino people, you’ll also enjoy:

  • Job security.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Career growth.
  • Retirement plan.
  • Bonuses and salary increases.

Of course, everyone who has a desire to work for the government goes through a hiring process.

Nope, I’m not talking about finding an influential person to provide you a shortcut; even the best “backer” can’t guarantee you a government position if you don’t have civil service eligibility.

Civil service eligibility means you’ve passed the civil service exam.
